A shielded cable, often called a screened cable, is an electrical cable with a common conductive covering wrapped around its conductors for electromagnetic shielding. This shield is frequently covered by the outermost layer of the wire. The most common forms of cable shielding are foil (henceforth referred to as metallized film), unbraided or braided contra spiraling wire strands, or both. A longitudinal wire may be needed to short out each turn of the dielectric spiral foils.
Features:
- It's grey in color.
- It is employed in security system applications to guard against radio frequency interference and power frequency interference.
- There are five wires on it. Red, green, blue, yellow, and black are the colors found inside.
- Its shield is made of tinned copper.
- It is constructed of copper and contains 14 stands per wire.
