DESCRIPTION:
Often called a plug, a male connector features a solid pin for the centre conductor. Conversely, a female connector, often known as a jack, has a centre conductor that has a hole in it to receive the male pin. The threads on the fitting are always referred to as male or female. The female threads (female fittings) are on the inside like a nut, whereas the male threads are on the exterior like a bolt. Male and female threads are screwed into each other.
